Programs in plant and horticultural sciences provide training in scientific methodology and the interpretation of experimental results for sustainable management. Subjects include breeding, genetics, physiology, ecology and production of field and horticultural crops such as cereals, corn, forages, oilseeds and pulses. Examples of research areas include: plant breeding, applications of plant biotechnology, understanding agricultural ecosystems and cytogenetic and molecular genetics.
